The opportunity

We currently have a 0.74 part-time Library Assistant role available within the London College of Communication Library Services team.  This post is available 4 days a week, 26 hours, Monday - Wednesday, and either Thursday or Friday.  There is a requirement to work until 6pm once a week during UG term-time, and 6.15pm once a week outside UG term-time.

Based in the LCC Information Skills team, which co-ordinates information skills provision on site, tasks include: support for setting up student induction tours and information skills sessions; collating session registers and feedback; creating library posters, guides and signage.

You will assist in the delivery of high quality customer-focused library and open access IT services, participating in front-line services and administrative duties, including support for self-issue systems and IT.

You will assist users with directional and initial information enquiries, including the use of Library materials, as well as participating in roaming support. You'll also provide guidance on the use of electronic information resources, the internet and support general purpose software.

About you

You will have relevant experience in a library, open access IT or customer service environment and will be able to work independently, have basic numeracy skills or experience of financial procedures and have experience using Microsoft office 365, Internet and electronic resources.

You are able to ensure that accurate information is passed onto the most appropriate people in a timely fashion and have experience of answering standard questions/queries from customers.  You have experience of working as a member of a team, providing support, assistance and cover where needed.
