What we offer

We are UAL

Central Saint Martins’ world-leading reputation for arts and design education stems from the creative energy of its staff and students and the stellar achievements of its graduates nationally and internationally. The nine programmes at Central Saint Martins while challenging the boundaries of their discipline understand that what we do is always connected to others. Our community goes beyond building, beyond disciplines and beyond borders. From local neighbours to global partners, Central Saint Martins collaborates with others to build knowledge and transform objects, systems and lives for the better. We understand that good things happen when people work together.

BA Culture, Criticism and Curation is a broad humanities-based course situated within an art school context. Combining cultural theories with the practices of curating and journalism, it covers a range of disciplines that includes design, fine art, architecture, fashion, film, performance and literature. Increasingly concerned with interrogating histories and identities, it places critical thinking at the heart of cultural practice. From historical and archival research to curating exhibitions, making zines to arts organisation and festival planning, and from long-form writing to audio-visual essays and digital experiences, the course explores and expands what practice can mean in the humanities, its applications and the value it can bring.

BA Culture, Criticism and Curation sits within the Culture & Enterprise Programme at Central Saint Martins, alongside five postgraduate courses that includes MA Culture, Criticism and Curation, MA Applied Imagination, MA Innovation Management, MBA with Birkbeck and MA Arts and Cultural Enterprise. The course and programme teaching teams include a range of writers, scholars, creative practitioners and curators. Culture & Enterprise is committed to continuing to diversify its staff team and extend its representation.
