The opportunity

This post will play an important role in engagement with both industry and students. The role has two main functions – to engage with key industry players in securing accredited short and long term placements and job opportunities for students across all course subject areas, as well as recommending students for those opportunities as and when necessary, whilst providing career guidance and support to them (through one to ones, presentations and sessions, both online and in person).

You will effectively manage industry relationships and work flexibly as a member of the team to provide administrative support to the careers service, and ensure the delivery of a bespoke and considered service to students, industry and academics. You will also communicate opportunities to students effectively through internal communication channels, and help to promote the LCF Careers Live jobsite to students, graduates, industry, and external stakeholders.

About you

You will have previous experience of effective careers coaching and advice giving in an HE or similar environment, and an understanding of the facilitation and administration of accredited work experience for students. You will also have a clear understanding of client relationship building and industry engagement – such as recruitment, talent development or resourcing, and have an interest in the fashion, lifestyle and beauty sectors.

You will be an excellent planner and facilitator, who is committed to providing the best possible opportunities for students, giving a high level of service, whilst maintaining a busy and varied workload with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will have an understanding of stakeholder needs, work under pressure with sometimes conflicting demands, and you will be a real ‘people person’ with a friendly, bespoke and dedicated approach.

In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, a final salary pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity.

Please note, we have two roles available, one permanent and one fixed term maternity cover for 6 months in the first instance. Please state if you have a preference.

If you have any queries about this role, you may contact the LCF Staffing Team at vacancies@fashion.arts.ac.uk.
