We are looking for a Programme Director (1.0 FTE) for Culture & Enterprise to bring academic vision and leadership to the direction and development of this broad and ambitious programme. With five of the programme’s courses going through scheduled reapproval in 2021/22 there is an immediate and exciting opportunity for the new Programme Director to work with course teams to further develop the programme shape, positioning and identity.
You will oversee the day to day management of the Programme including learning, teaching and assessment, as well as resource management and staffing. You will bring a collegiate approach to leadership to enable and support Course Leaders to anticipate change and address current challenges, issues and debates surrounding racial justice, climate emergency and the post pandemic context.
The Culture & Enterprise programme is concerned with exploring the agency, contexts and functions of culture and creativity. The programme’s courses engage with critical, theoretical and historical discourses related to creative practice, leadership, innovation and enterprise, uniquely situated within the art school context. Currently comprising five postgraduate courses and one undergraduate course, this broad offer encompasses writing and curating, cultural critique and applications of creative practice and social innovation and entrepreneurship. With two flexible, blended learning courses (MA Arts and Cultural Enterprise and the MBA), the programme is exploring different types of access to education, testing ways of delivering teaching and learning across geographies, allowing students to balance education and employment/business.
