The opportunity

As a Senior Lecturer for Hair, Make-up and Prosthetics for Performance, this role will see you take on a supporting role to the Course Leader in the academic leadership and management of the Course, including the maintenance and enhancement of standards and responsibility for the design, development and delivery of the curriculum.

This course is part of the Performance Programme at London College of Fashion. The Performance courses share an excellent range of facilities, including a wig-making and hair styling studio and prosthetics and make-up studios with live ‘camera to TV’ link. As a Senior Lecturer, you will be responsible for the Course’s day to day management, including all areas of learning, teaching and assessment of students, as well as resources allocated.

Responsible to the Course Leader and working collaboratively within a course team, you will deploy your specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions.

About you

The successful candidate will have a background within Hair, Make-up and Prosthetics, holding a degree in a relevant area. A higher degree, PhD or Higher-level research degree would also be desirable. You should also have experience of teaching and assessment in higher education, applying an inquiring, innovative and reflexive approach.

With a passion for your specialist area, you will contribute to advancing professional practice/research or scholarly activity, maintaining your subject currency as part of your own continuing professional development, ensuring you maintain your position as a leader in the field.

You will be able to communicate effectively, motivate and lead a team setting clear objectives to manage performance and plan, prioritise and manage resources effectively.
