The opportunity

London College of Communication is a pioneering world leader in creative communications education. With the communications sector constantly evolving at a rapid speed, we work at the cutting edge of new thinking and developments to prepare our students for successful careers in the creative industries of the future. Our course provision reflects the breadth of expertise housed within the most diverse creative agency including: journalism, advertising, PR and publishing; photography; film, television and sound; communications and media; graphic communication; art direction; design cultures; and interactive and visual communication.

About you

You may have experience of delivering learning development initiatives and supporting students to fulfil their academic potential within HE and/or FE. In addition to a teaching qualification and a degree-level education, you will have experience in arts education or in the screen, media and design industries as a practitioner. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential, together with an enthusiastic and supportive approach that will inspire students to succeed to the best of their abilities in both group and 1:1 settings.

You possess the ability to work collaboratively in a team and across different professional groups. An effective communicator, both orally and in writing, you are able to adapt the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way, building and maintaining positive relationships with students and staff alike.

What we offer

We are UAL

In this teaching role you will develop and deliver high quality study support tailored to the needs of individuals, groups, and subjects, enabling students to develop as confident independent learners and to fulfil their academic potential. This may include contributing to specific initiatives that support students transitioning into and progressing through FE and HE education and on to post-graduate study.

As a core member of the Academic Support Team within the College you will collaborate effectively with Programme/Course Teams and with other Academic Support colleagues in the University to implement the cross-college Library and Academic Support Strategy as part of the Library and Student Services Directorate. You will apply inclusive practices which recognise the diversity of the student population at UAL and demonstrate an understanding of the subject disciplines taught at UAL.
