The opportunity

We are looking for an innovative, highly skilled and experienced academic practitioner to join the Jewellery, Textiles and Materials Programme at CSM. As the Course Leader for BA Jewellery Design you will play a key role in the development and management of course making a positive impact in shaping the educational journey of our jewellery design students. You will work closely with colleagues from the Programme, with the Academic Support, Student Services and the college community. 

About you

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant design or a subject associated with Jewellery Design.
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing adapting the medium and the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way.
  • Collaborates and works effectively within team and across different professional groups.
  • Works effectively and respectfully with a wide range of people.
  • Fosters inclusive and constructive teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Applies innovative approaches to course leadership, teaching, learning or professional practice to support excellent teaching, pedagogy and inclusivity.
  • Applies own research to develop learning and assessment practice.
  • Familiar with debates and research relating to planet emergency, decolonising the curriculum and awarding gaps within the HE Sector.
  • Evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of Jewellery Design and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College and University.
  • Industry / professional experience of leading projects with partners and diverse participants.
  • Plans, prioritises and manages resources effectively to achieve long term objectives.
  • Builds effective teams, networks or communities of practice and fosters constructive cross team collaboration.
  • Contributes to improving or adapting provision to enhance the online student experience or customer service.
  • Suggests practical solutions to new or unique problems.
  • Higher degree (e.g. MA) in a relevant design or a subject associated with Jewellery Design (Desirable).
  • Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent) (Desirable).
