The opportunity

Based at London College of Fashion’s West London site in Shepherds Bush, you will focus on the coordination, operation and development of professional standard Media facilities and technical workshops, forming part of core curriculum and extended practice across a broad range of media based technical skills including Photography, Moving Image, Design and Publication, Styling, Hair & Makeup, Digital Image and Technology & Innovation. 

You will line-manage teams of Support Technicians and Specialist Teaching & Learning Technicians, overseeing associated facilities, learning resources and budgets where necessary.

Reporting to the Technical Manager for Media, Communication and Performance, you will work with a team of Technical Coordinators, liaising with both technical and academic course teams to provide exceptional technical facilities, technical teaching and student experience, whilst contributing to the College strategic vision for Technology Enhanced Learning.

You will contribute your expert knowledge and experience where needed within UAL and, with an extensive Estates project to relocate the College campus within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s Cultural and Education Quarter, you will provide specialist experience to inform this landmark project.

About you

You will have experience coordinating and delivering technical services at scale. You will be familiar with industry trends and potential disruptions within the media industry with practical experience in at least some of the specialist Media subject areas listed above.

Teaching experience or a familiarity with effective and innovative pedagogical approaches are essential.
You will have the ability to lead a team effectively, including setting clear objectives to manage performance, providing clear feedback on performance and planning development journeys.

You may occasionally be required to be flexible with your work time arrangements in order to support ad-hoc events that occur out of the normal working hours.
