The Head of College Operations is a deputy role for the Director of College Administration (DoCA) with remit for overseeing the day to day operational processes across Chelsea College of Art, Camberwell College of Art and Wimbledon College of Performance Art.

As the Head of College Operations, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of our colleges. Your responsibilities are varied but will primarily include providing support and guidance to the administrative, operational, and planning activities within the Schools of Art, Design, and Performance. Collaborating closely with School Managers, you’ll contribute to the development and implementation of planning activities at both the school and college levels.

Additionally, you’ll play a key role in staff development and engagement, ensuring that our team is equipped with the necessary skills and training to excel in their roles. With oversight of licenses for college activities, you will ensure compliance and facilitate the smooth execution of events and activities across our sites. You’ll also coordinate and oversee Health & Safety initiatives to improve the well-being of our staff and students.

You’ll be expected to work professionally with a wide range of stakeholders across professional services teams, academics and hourly paid lecturers and technical teams, to ensure that day to day operations within the College are operating smoothly and effectively. In all relationships with stakeholders the expectation is to work collaboratively to develop and implement service expectations and effective operational models across the College and within the University.

About you

We’re looking for a strategic and visionary leader who can navigate the complexities of college operations. With your exceptional management experience, you will be able to provide guidance and mentorship to a small team of dedicated staff members.

You’ll possess a relevant degree and will also demonstrate a track record of managing complex operations. Your experience in providing management information, generating statistical reports, and overseeing projects will be highly valuable. Moreover, your ability to motivate and lead a team, setting clear objectives and managing performance, will be instrumental in driving operational excellence.
