The opportunity
Your main responsibilities will be the preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of the ‘Research Methods for Arts Higher Education’ unit, and leading a Masters ‘Dissertation’ seminar group.
You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge in the context of Academic Practice in Art, Design and Communication within a supportive environment and to enhance your career. You will work closely with other academic staff, including the Programme Director/Course Leader.
The ‘Research Methods for Arts Higher Education’ unit runs from January to November 2018; the ‘Dissertation’ unit runs from January 2018 to January 2019. About you
You will have knowledge and experience in academic practice in the arts or related fields (e.g. social sciences or humanities). Teaching experience of working with postgraduate students in the HE sector is a requirement, as is as a postgraduate degree in a related subject area. This will complemented by disciplinary knowledge and expertise; effective teamworking; and a commitment to enhancing the student experience.
Applicants should have:
- extensive educational development experience, teaching on a similar programme
- previous experience of teaching research methods and supervising dissertations at postgraduate level
- good awareness of HE teaching and learning in the creative arts
- Fellowship of the HEA.
