The opportunity
Are you a dynamic and energetic individual with a passion for making across several creative techniques and materials? Do you enjoy sharing these skills with others to help them become great makers too? We’re looking for a Studio Technician for our MA Design courses at Camberwell College of Arts.
This role sits at the heart of a dynamic teaching and making space that reflects the breadth of your knowledge. You’ll work across a number of MA Design courses, including Graphic Design and Illustration, managing an active studio environment, while also supporting students in our well-resourced wood workshop.
Your expertise will guide students through their creative processes, bridging the gap between their ideas and the specialised workshops. You'll manage the studio's physical and online presence, ensuring students have access to the resources they need for their research and coursework. This role involves creating physical samples to demonstrate different making techniques, providing technical advice, and maintaining high standards of health and safety.
About you
We are looking for a passionate individual with a BA in Fine Arts or Design. Your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, will be essential as you engage with students and colleagues. You should also have experience in motivating and leading teams and be adept at planning and managing resources efficiently.
A creative problem-solver, you will bring your initiative and innovation to support the students' learning journey and contribute to the development of our vibrant academic community. Additionally, skills in both traditional making techniques and basic digital fabrication knowledge will be essential.
