We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Expenditure Manager to join the University in leading a proactive, customer focussed and professional service for staff and students across UAL. The Central Finance is a University-wide department delivering a wide range of functions in support of operational and strategic financial management.
The team ensures that accurate payment to all creditors within the agreed contract terms in accordance with UAL’s financial regulations and policies.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, Estates Strategy, Tax and Expenditure the Expenditure Manager is responsible for delivering a customer focussed and professional Expenditure service for staff and students across the University in a multi-site environment.
We are looking for proven experience in a customer facing role, a thorough knowledge of Accounts Payable, Expenses and credit card expenditure functions together with a good understanding of financial reporting systems with specific knowledge of ABW.
The Expenditure Manager will manage a team of seven people and will lead the development and implementation of best practise in terms of Accounts Payable, Expenses and Credit card expenditure, ensuring that the University makes accurate payment to all creditors within agreed contract terms and in accordance with UAL’s financial regulations and policies.
The post holder will develop suitable policies and procedures that support an effective and efficient expenditure service, providing advice to internal and external stakeholders.
The post holder will also have strong communication skills and experience in building relationships with budget managers, internal stakeholders and suppliers, and be able to demonstrate a proactive approach.
