The opportunity

The Lecturer in Extended Reality & Digital Imaging is responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on the course. This course is part of the International Studies and Progression to Specialist UG Programme at the London College of Communication. The post-holder will work closely with the course leader and collaboratively within a course team, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions. The post holder will be expected to teach into other courses in the programme as required.

 

We are looking for an inspirational lecturer with experience in teaching at further and higher education and committed to teaching. Extensive subject knowledge across Design, Media and Screen with a focus on extended reality and imaging within digital and analogue contexts. Work effectively within a team, inspire both colleagues and students and be able to deliver creatively to a diverse and large cohort of international students. A detailed understanding and experience of up-to-date teaching methods is essential, complemented by excellent administrative and organisational skills.

Requirements of the Role:


  • Developing innovative and engaging units, lectures, and seminars covering both theoretical and practice-based units.
  • Contributing significantly to course development, assessment, and review.
  • Contributing to and take responsibility for the learning, teaching and assessment of students, providing academic and pastoral support as necessary, monitoring student progress and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Contribute to ensuring that a high-quality student experience is delivered on the course.
  • Leading course units and coordinating members of staff teaching in those.
