The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity  to play a key role in the leadership and management of the Graduate Diploma Fashion Design Technology at the London College of Fashion.

This is a well-established one-year course with excellent links with postgraduate courses at London College of Fashion and nationally, that provides the skills and knowledge to prepare graduates for primarily a range of design and design related postgraduate courses.

In this role, you will be responsible for the academic leadership of the Graduate Diploma Fashion Design Technology, including the day-to-day management of staff and all areas of learning, teaching and assessment of students as well as resources allocated.

You will contribute to, and where appropriate, lead on the process of course development, modifications, major changes, validation and review by the University, external agencies and professional bodies working with the Programme Director, Associate Dean and Dean.

If you have any queries about this role, you may contact the LCF Staffing Team at vacancies@fashion.arts.ac.uk

About you

You will have expertise in research methods and visual, text and object-based analysis, with the confidence to translate your knowledge into a vision for the course. A relevant degree-level qualification is essential and will be supported by a postgraduate degree in the relevant area and ideally a teaching qualification. You will have the ability to build on and establish excellent industry connections and networks in order to provide a progressive and highly-regarded experience.

As well as your expertise, knowledge and experience in research methods and analysis, you will have knowledge of the fashion design process for clothing and artefact, and have an understanding of their application in the context of contemporary fashion design.

You will undertake research and/or professional practice to maintain your subject currency as part of your own continuing development and ensuring your position as a leader in your field.
