The opportunity

As a member of the UAL-wide Academic Support team within the Library & Student Support Services, the post-holder will be a lead digital learning technologist, contributing significantly to the ongoing management and development of Academic Support Online (ASO).

ASO is the online learning environment for offering Academic Support to students across the University. It is a key enabler for realising the strategy for Academic Support and Library & Student Support Services.

About you

We are looking for a highly engaged person experienced in the design and publishing of online learning – someone who understands and develops current practices and identifies effective approaches to enable student learning through digital environments and online resources.

 

The successful candidate will have knowledge of relevant web development processes and practices (e.g. HTML/TWIG, CSS/SASS), as well as software packages for web based resource development using Adobe Creative Suite products, MS Packages, Moodle activities, content authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Rise, Adapt), infographics, video, live capture and podcast production.

 

Educated to degree level and preferably postgraduate level, with work experience in the arts and/or Arts learning in Higher Education, you’ll have particular understand of learning in digital contexts and have contributed to staff training in online resources, virtual learning environments or related skills. You will also be familiar with relevant legislation – including licensing, IP data protection and accessibility standards - monitoring and review activities, and be able to customise learning analytics.

 

Ensuring an inclusive, supportive, customer-focused environment is vital to you, and you will have an adaptable range of communication skills, enabling you to work collaboratively and build positive professional relationships. You will also be keen to bring up to date expertise and best practice to the continuous development of Academic Support Online.
