The opportunity

The Screen School at London College of Communication is looking to recruit a Programme Director to lead and manage the recently created Moving Image and Digital Arts Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the development of this Programme which currently comprises undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Animation and Games Design, Virtual Reality, Visual Effects and 3D Computer Animation.

This role will include subject leadership of the relevant academic disciplines, the maintenance and enhancement of standards, responsibility for the design, development and delivery of the Programme curriculum and its relationship to research. Working with course teams, you will also lead on the development of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level and the potential reconfiguration of the Programme.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Programme including all areas of learning, teaching and assessment of students as well as resource management and the observation and implementation of the policies and procedures of the University and the College.

As a member of the School Management Team, the appointed candidate will work closely with the School Dean and Associate Dean and be able to contribute to School, College and University initiatives including research.

About you

We are looking for an individual with a successful academic or professional background in these fields of moving image and digital arts and will be capable of providing leadership to a growing team in a strategically important area for the College. The highly collaborative nature of the disciplines within Screen School and the Moving Image and Digital Arts means we are looking for an individual with strong communication and team-working skills.

You will be educated to postgraduate level, have an interest in the future of moving image and digital arts disciplines such as animation, games design, visual effects and virtual reality, and be able to translate your ideas into the enhancement of our existing portfolio of courses.
