The opportunity
We are seeking a committed individual to support the learning, teaching and research activities of the University, by providing service wide co-ordinated support for access to resources, collections and services for students with disabilities.
The postholder will have specific responsibility for coordinating work within Library Services related to access and inclusion, in particular the provision of alternative format material.
About you
You will have experience or awareness of working with disabled customers
You will have relevant experience within an academic environment or equivalent. ESSENTIAL
You will have excellent communication skills, and be able to express yourself clearly & confidently in writing, face to face, by phone or by email. ESSENTIAL
You can work independently, but are equally comfortable working collaboratively in a team and where appropriate across or with different professional groups. ESSENTIAL
You will have knowledge or experience of relevant technologies including Microsoft Office, Adoble accessible PDFs, Moodle or other VLE, assistive technology (e.g.text to speach) and Library Management Systems.
You will have experience of customer-focused service delivery and awareness of how principles of access and inclusion apply to library services.
You will be able to effectively deliver basic training or briefings to support understanding or learning
