We are looking to recruit an Associate Lecturer to teach within the Fashion and Textiles area of the Foundation Course at Central Saint Martins. You will teach groups of 35 students specialising in Fashion, preparing for and delivering structured learning experiences including classes, tutorials, workshops and studio critiques. As part of the course team, you will participate in formative and summative assessment. You will contribute to course development and quality processes through engagement in course planning meetings and will maintain effective communication with your line manager, other colleagues and students.

Central Saint Martins is a world-leading centre for arts and design education. Its reputation stems from the creative energy of its staff and students and the stellar achievements of its graduates nationally and internationally. The nine programmes at CSM explore the boundaries of their discipline. Students and staff are continually alert to new ideas, and are curious and restless in developing beyond the expected norms of their subject, so emerging work is at the forefront of its area. CSM sits at the heart of London’s creative scene, and of one of Europe’s most dynamic new culture and innovation quarters at King’s Cross, making the college increasingly important to London’s cultural life, and indicative of our general desire to open up CSM to as broad an audience as possible.

The Foundation Course at Central Saint Martins has an outstanding reputation for educating pre-degree students and preparing them to progress to the best BA courses in Art and Design.

You'll be a highly creative and motivated individual who is active in your specialist field and preferably has experience of delivering high quality learning experiences within Further and/or Higher Education. An effective communicator, confident in your ability to deal with a large and diverse student cohort, you'll be good at working collaboratively in a team, bringing ideas and approaches to teaching and learning to support excellent pedagogy.

In return, we offer a competitive employment package including a salary that reflects working in London, generous annual leave, an attractive pension scheme, and a commitment to your continuing personal and career development in an environment that encourages creativity, diversity and excellence.

If you have any queries about this role please contact CSM Staffing team via email: hourlypaid@csm.arts.ac.uk or telephone: 0207 514 7879.
