The opportunity

The Screen School seeks an enthusiastic and skilled Games Art Lecturer to teach into BA Games Art, and BA Animation: Game Arts pathway. Supporting the academic team, you will provide course development, lecturing, and pastoral support to the courses. You will co-ordinate assessment activities and student engagement opportunities. You will aid in the planning and implementation of subject specific events and activities, as well as ensuring a high standard of subject delivery, progression monitoring, and continued personal professional development is maintained.

You will be an experienced educator in Games Art & Development and/or an active practitioner of Games Art with a focus in one of the following areas: character design, Zbrush modelling, Unreal Engine development, concept art, animation for games, or VFX for games.

Ideally you will have industry experience and will be eager to impart your knowledge to students effectively and with enthusiasm.

You will become the key authority of your specialist area, defining best practice, establishing industry ready pipelines, and feeding into the staff development plan by sharing your knowledge with the wider department.

You will be an experienced educator in the subject of games art and development with a focus in one of the following areas: character design, Zbrush modelling, Unreal Engine development, concept art, animation for games, or VFX for games.

Delivering engaging, and high-quality lectures and workshops in your subject area, you will be someone that can support students with a range of abilities enabling them to succeed beyond their expectations. You will be flexible and inclusive in your approach to learning and teaching ensuring that equity and accessibility are at the forefront of your delivery.

 

Ideally you will have industry relevant experience of greater than 2 years and be an active practitioner of games art, with an advanced skillset demonstratable through your portfolio. You will have a network of industry contacts that you actively maintain and connect with the course to empower and enrich the student experience.

You will be a holder of a BA/BSc or equivalent in relevant subject such as Games Art, 3D Computer Graphics, etc.

Masters or equivalent in related subject is desirable.

Holder of PGCE in Education or Higher Education is desirable.

Member of professional bodies is desirable.
