If you offer considerable experience of providing clerical/administrative support in a medium to large organisation, this position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role supporting the Governance Office of a world leading university.

As Governance Officer, you will have a variety of responsibilities, such as organising meetings, drafting and replying to correspondence, assisting in running governor elections, undertaking routine checks on prospective governors, drafting and issuing letters, filing, booking training sessions, and providing occasional support for financial tasks (such as processing expenses and invoices).

You will also be responsible for clerking governor and committee meetings, which will include preparing agendas, taking minutes and acting as the main point of contact for committee members between meetings.

You will also provide support at governor events as and when required.

For the fourth year running, University of the Arts London is the world’s second University for Art and Design in the QS World University Rankings® 2022. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with a wide range of people, including governors and senior university managers.

The ability to prepare agendas and other committee documents within a set style and protocol and produce clear and accurate minutes is equally important.

You will also be able to plan, prioritise and organise your own work to achieve objectives on time and provide a positive and responsive service for governors and colleagues across the university.
