The opportunity

You will contribute to the development and delivery of high quality and customer-focused library services which support the academic activities of the University and its constituent Colleges.

You will have functional responsibility for Customer Service at Chelsea Library, which includes overseeing local frontline services, and representing Chelsea Library at department-wide working groups.

You will support specified courses/programmes of study, participating in course committees. You will establish constructive working relationships with course teams, and promote access to resources, collections and services through effective academic liaison and information dissemination.

You will assist in the provision of enquiry services and develop learning materials which encourage the use of resources and services.

You will line manage a small team, including an Assistant Academic Support Librarian and two part-time Library Assistants, and be responsible for providing professional leadership in your functional area. 

Working pattern for this post is currently Monday - Friday with one evening per week until 7.45pm during undergraduate term, and until 6.15pm one or more times a week outside undergraduate term.

 

About you

With a degree in Library and Information Management or equivalent at Graduate or Postgraduate level, you will have demonstrable experience of working in library or customer service environment.
