The opportunity

As part of our new Strategy & Architecture Division, you will use your expertise to support the management, development and security of our Windows server environment. This would include installing, configuring and patching windows-based servers on our VMWare environment, managing network storage and associated software, as well as developing maintenance schedules. To ensure IT services are successfully integrated and delivered, you will participate in internal and external user communities, giving you the chance to work with team members and peers across the University. You will also be required to assist and advise where necessary regarding methods and tools for the application and execution of tasks to less experienced members of the team and in response to service desk incident escalation.

About you

With a relevant degree (or equivalent experience), you will be an expert in your field and a point of reference for others. Your technical knowledge should cover Windows server 2008 / 2012, including DNS/DHCP, PKI, Active directory, security and web-services. A strong understanding of VMWare infrastructure management, server storage and networking are also key to your success in this role. Experience of Dell server and storage (Compellant) would also be beneficial. Additionally any familiarity in performance analysis and capacity planning would be advantageous. You will have both written and oral communication skills to share your expertise plus up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments in your specialist area. This role will have responsibilities for both reactive support and project delivery tasks relevant to the field.

In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, an attractive pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity. Relocation assistance is available.
