The opportunity

To support the Director/Principal Investigator (PI) and UAL-based Lead Co-Investigator (CI) of the Business of Fashion Textiles & Technology (BFTT) Project in the delivery of Challenge 5 ‘Circular Materials: the potential of synthetic renewables’. Challenge 5 of the BFTT project focuses on the development of a roadmap for a move to circular (synthetic & semi-synthetic) materials in the fashion & textiles industry. This roadmap will give industry strategic insight of re- and upcycling opportunities, with the game-changing potential that in the future recovery tech redefines synthetic materials as ‘renewable resources’. 

About you

You will have a doctoral qualification in the area of product development in textiles and textiles materials recycling, or equivalent research experience. You will have experience related to recycling practices within textiles industry. You will have experience of undertaking research with external collaborators and working with visualisation tools.

You will be able to works collaboratively in a team and where appropriate across or with different professional groups, and to take appropriate level of responsibility and act with initiative.
