The opportunity

You will assist in delivering excellent customer and learning support to students, staff and visitors who use the Learning Zone, assisting them with our loan offers, our facilities, room bookings, equipment, IT software and IT hardware. You will also assist with a range of tasks to support the running and administration of the resource, including refilling MFDs and updating shared information sources. 

As a Learning Zone assistant you have to be able to organise your own work priorities in harmony with the rest of the team, and you must be committed to working in sync with all relevant policies and procedures.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover until April 27th 2020. The role is term time only but with 3.5 weeks to be worked outside of term time. The term time work pattern is: Mondays 10am - 8pm, Thursday 1.15pm -10.15pm and Saturday 9.45am -8.15pm (all include 1 hour unpaid break)

About you

Educated to post-16 level, you will have an interest in the subject areas of the University of the Arts London. You must have basic numeracy skills and experience of cash handling and financial procedures. 

You will have relevant experience in an open access IT, library or customer service environment. You must demonstrate the ability to work independently, and you will have the ability to provide routine oral and written information clearly and concisely. You will demonstrate a commitment to your own development through effective use of appraisal schemes and staff development processes.
