The opportunity


As part of UAL’s continued improvement plan for Information Services, we are looking to invest in a Senior SQL DBA who is keen to develop their experience across SQL within a large complex organisation. As a Senior DBA you will provide expertise and take the lead in installing, configuring, maintaining SQL Services whilst ensuring the performance and capacity of these services are of a high standard.



About you


  • Strong background in SQL Database Administration ideally with experience of MS SQL 2008, 2012 and 2016.
  • Installation and configuration of new MS SQL Server instances, including deployment and management of maintenance solutions.
  • Ideally experience of working on both database upgrades and migrations within a large complex environment including upgrading to MS SQL 2016
  • Patching and updating SQL server
  • Advanced T-SQL query writing, tuning and PowerShell scripting
  • Any experience with MySQL and Maria DB will be advantageous.

Communication


  • You will be a self-motivated individual who is able to be adaptable and flexible and able to adjust to new situations and environments
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with a logical and sensible approach to tasks.
