The opportunity

You will assist in the delivery of high quality customer-focussed library and open access IT services at the University of the Arts London (UAL), which support the teaching, learning and research activities of its Colleges. You will participate in front-line services and administrative duties including support for self-issue systems and services. You will assist users with directional and initial information enquiries, including helping with the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and Internet use, provide guidance on using electronic information resources and library materials and support general purpose software and use of printing services, as well as participating in roaming support as required.

As part of the requirement of the role, you may occasionally be asked to work at one of the other UAL college libraries: Central St Martins, London College of Fashion, Chelsea, Camberwell and Wimbledon.

About you

With relevant experience in a library, open access IT or customer service environment, you will be able to work independently and have basic numeracy skills or experience of financial procedures. You will be able to ensure that accurate information is passed onto the most appropriate people in a timely fashion in order to support working practices. In addition, you will have experience of answering standard, basic questions/queries from users or customers and be used to working as a member of a team, providing support, assistance, and cover where needed.

In return, we offer a competitive employment package including a salary that reflects working in London; an attractive pension scheme; and a commitment to your continuing personal and career development in an environment that encourages creativity, diversity and excellence. Relocation assistance is available.
