The opportunity

Traditional print techniques and facilities are regarded as core to the ethos of the London College of Communication. Leading the Print & Design technical department, the role will oversee the traditional multi process print facilities found within the LCC Print Space. These include Relief Printing, Intaglio, Stone and Plate Lithography, and Screen Printing on Paper and Textiles.

Duties will include line managing a team of technical staff, ensuring safe and effective use of resources within the department and leading student workshops, assisting students in specialist technical processes. A key part of the role will be working with other College technical managers to ensure excellent service delivery and support, participating in student technical tuition, holding workshops, inductions and providing one to one support.

About you

You will be technically proficient in at least two of the relevant areas: Relief Printing, Screen-printing, Lithography or Intaglio Printing.  The successful applicant should ideally have experience in managing a technical facility, either in higher education or an industry field and should possess good industry knowledge across a broad range of technical areas.

Above all we are looking for a motivated, creative individual who can add to a growing and increasingly important team at the college. We would expect high levels of technical competence and a dedication to technological development.

Appointment to this role will be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.  Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from employment. This will depend on the circumstances and background to your offence(s).
