The opportunity
Are you passionate about communications and about the creative arts? If so, we are recruiting a Communications Officer to join our globally renowned University. We are looking for someone who can help to raise the profile of UAL amongst key external audiences and the wider public by developing and delivering communications plans to promote our campaigns and objectives.
With a focus on news-gathering and story-telling across a variety of channels (including online, print and social), you will lead on the coordination and forward-planning of news to maximise its impact. You’ll be joining an organisation which campaigns to influence policy and the public agenda in arts education.
About you
You will be an organised, enthusiastic and hard-working team player who has had previous experience in a similar role either in-house or in an agency. Experience of working in the Higher Education or Arts sectors or as a journalist would be an advantage but is not essential for the right candidate.
You will be a first-class communicator who is able to generate rich, innovative content including for social media channels, and is able to demonstrate measurable impact. You’ll be digitally savvy and have exceptional writing skills with demonstrable experience of writing engaging and concise copy for a range of channels and audiences. You’ll have the ability to spot a news hook and to pitch stories directly to the media. Your practical abilities will encompass using an online content management system and working with camera/filming/editing equipment to create audio and visual content. And of course you’ll be passionate about delivering standout communications and about the creative arts.
In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, an attractive salary and pension plus a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity. Relocation assistance is available.
