The opportunity

The Master of Arts in Design Management and Cultures is an exciting new course with an emphasis on global design futures, innovation and critical management practices. It is a four term, full-time programme where students develop high-level leadership, management, communication and analytical skills designed to meet the changing needs of a Design Management career in the twenty-first century. This is a unique course that combines academic study with creative and professional practice in a project-led curriculum that draws on a range of interdisciplinary perspectives. 

As Course Leader you will be responsible to the Programme Director for the academic leadership and management of the MA Design Management and Cultures. This includes maintenance and enhancement of standards, responsibility for the design, development and delivery of the curriculum plus the day-to-day management of the course including all areas of learning, teaching and assessment of students as well as resources allocated. 

About you

We are looking for an individual with a relevant qualification at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level in one of the following or related subject areas: Design Management, Design Futures, Service Design, Design Studies, Social Innovation and/or equivalent experience. You should be an active researcher with a network of global industry and academic contacts and have (or be prepared to undertake) a PG teaching qualification. Previous leadership and academic management experience is desirable. You should be able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge and critical understanding of design business, enterprise and management, the creative and cultural industries and the global social, cultural, environmental, political and economic forces that are transforming design practices and discourses. We are seeking an individual with strong communication, management and organisational skills who is a good team player and able to work collaboratively with colleagues to develop the subject area and share expertise
