The opportunity

This role is designed to lead digital and analogue 3D fabrication in the 3D workshop at the London College of Communication along side fellow team members.

Working in the 3D workshop, this role will support students and courses throughout the college who use the workshop as an open access resource.

Duties will include the planning and running of workshops, inductions and taught scenarios as well as working with students one to one and in groups. Maintenance, health and safety, administration and the future development of the area will also feature in this role.

As a specialist technician the successful candidate will be expected to have experience in a previous teaching and learning 3D fabrication role as well as specialist knowledge of the running and maintenance of machinery in one or more of the following - CNC routing/milling, 3D printing and laser cutting.

About you

You will have gained experience from working in 3D design, production and fabrication and will have worked extensively in both digital and analogue fabrication practices. The successful applicant will work alongside technicians and academics within the college to ensure students are trained in the safe, innovative and professional use of the College’s technical resources.

Above all we are looking for a motivated, creative individual who can add to a growing and increasingly important team at the college. We would expect high levels of technical competence and a dedication to personal development.
