The opportunity

The post holder will have responsibility for the analysis of external data and statutory returns that fall under the remit of the University Central Planning Unit including returns to HESA and funding bodies. You will assure the data contained in external returns, reconciling and analysing data to support the wider objectives of the University and modelling the impact of data in the returns on external performance measures. 

You will be expected to contribute to the overall work of the department and this will include undertaking data analyses, supporting the use of our planning tools and contributing to University-wide projects as appropriate.


 

About you

In addition to your experience in data management and data analysis you will ideally have a detailed understanding of the student lifecycle and the student record in the UK university sector – including statutory requirements. We are looking for applicants who have demonstrable expertise in producing data returns and working with statutory guidance to ensure accurate returns and the ability to assess the implications of data returns on the organisation and our external funding and profile. You will be confident in using software applications to analyse, interpret and report on complex data and have an understanding of the role of data in decision making.  

With a degree or equivalent professional experience you are a diligent self-starter who communicates well and is used to working with senior officers and meticulous about accuracy and quality in your work. Ideally you will be looking for a new challenge or ambitious to progress your career to the next level.
