The opportunity

As a Specialist Technician you will provide specialist technical support, expertise and guidance to groups and individuals for taught programs, research and commercial activities. 

You will be responsible for the delivery of Animation and Character Modelling software training. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of equipment and infrastructure as well as ordering and receiving equipment and materials, ensuring the effective use of suppliers and contractors. You will also ensure both staff and students can work safely. 


You will not only bring key character animation skills with you but will have the opportunity to develop new skills and experience across a wide range of technical workshops. This post is largely a flexible role and you will work to a structured roster over the course of the year.

About you

You should be a specialist in the field of 3D & CGI Animation with a qualification in Animation or an Art and Design educational background or equivalent and relevant experience, gained through working in industry and or practice. You must be able to demonstrate and pass on specific technical skills to a wide range of students and have an in-depth knowledge of 3D & CGI Animation applications and workflows and related areas within the creative industries such as Autodesk Maya, 3D Studio Max, After Effects, Cinema 4D Lite, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Audition and ZBrush.
