The opportunity

This is a unique, varied and challenging role. Along with three other Disability Administrators, you will carry out a wide range of tasks which will include:

  • Responding to enquiries,
  • Managing appointments,
  • Undertaking financial and support worker administration,
  • Maintaining and developing record-keeping systems.

Participating in activities to develop and enhance the Disability Service and its administrative processes.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced administrator who has worked in a busy, customer focused, caring and inclusive organisation. You will enjoy working as part of a team.  

You will also have a broad understanding of the barriers that disabled students may encounter, and of disability support provision in an educational setting. 

Whilst it would be desirable for you to have worked in Further or Higher Education, you could also could be from a charity, social care or health background. You will have experience of working in an areas where you have had to observe client confidentiality. 

You will be able to communicate sensitively and effectively, working collaboratively to build rapport with colleagues and students. You will enjoy using your initiative or creativity to resolve problems and will be able to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines and service level agreements. 

You will be educated to at least ‘A’ Level standard, with a relevant qualification and/or training in customer care. You will have advanced IT skills with experience of working with Microsoft Office, databases, tailored business systems or case management software. 

You will be committed to working to a high standard and will relish the opportunity to contribute to the development of services and systems to meet students’ needs.
