Associate Lecturer MA Publishing

The opportunity

Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of a unit or part of a unit. You will make a significant contribution to the quality of learning and support our students receive in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully.

You will work closely with other academic staff, including the Programme Director and Course Leader.

About you

We are looking for associate lecturers in Publishing. We cover both book and magazine publishing and are looking for lecturers who have up to date knowledge of audiences, content and commercial aspects of multi-platform publishing as well as research methods. The ideal candidates will have worked in the publishing or related creative industries at some point and retain good connections with industry.  Experience of working with HE students and enhancing the student experience is a requirement as well as a relevant degree. Ideally you will have already undertaken teaching and assessment in publishing at master’s level. Experience of teaching research methods is particularly valuable as is carrying out academic focused research in the publishing arena. This role requires you to be comfortable across a variety of different learning and team teaching environments, whether organising and supporting group activity, delivering formal lectures and seminars, developing industry-focused presentations or supervising research projects for dissertations, artefacts and business documents.
