The opportunity

We are looking to recruit Associate Lecturers to teach on the MA Narrative Environments Course, based in the Spatial Practices Department at Central Saint Martins. You will teach prepare for and delivering structured learning experiences including classes, seminars, tutorials, workshops and studio critiques. Delivery may be up to ½ day per week, to be determined according to the lecturer's specialty and course needs. As part of the course team, you will participate in formative and summative assessment. Associate Lecturers have skills in a range of media and experiences with the design, development, and theory of Narrative Environments. Desired skills and perspectives can include contextual and theoretical studies related to the philosophy and design of narrative environments from eastern and western perspectives, narrative and speculative architecture, interaction design, social and service design, prototyping, spatial computing, sound/audio design, media and filmmaking and other skills related to the design and communication of narrative environments.

Teaching will take place between 21st September 2023 and June 25th 2024. Any successful applicant could be given additional, future hours within or outside of that date range.

About you

You will be a highly creative and motivated individual who is active in your specialist field and preferably has experience of delivering high quality learning experiences within Further and/or Higher Education. An effective communicator, confident in your ability to deal with a large and diverse student cohort, you'll be good at working collaboratively in a team, bringing ideas and approaches to teaching and learning to support excellent pedagogy.
