The opportunity

London College of Communication’s Business and Innovation team build partnerships with businesses, charities, community groups and cultural institutions. We connect students, staff and graduates to the outside world. We’re currently exploring how the College can play an effective role within the local neighbourhood as part of the development of a broader engagement strategy. So, engaging with local communities is a central and expanding element of our work in Business and Innovation and across the College, and we are seeking a part time coordinator to support these activities.

This new part time role will be varied and every day will be different but it will entail

  • Supporting the development and drafting of the College Local Engagement Strategy
  • Liaising and collaborating with academic staff, students, internal events team and local community stakeholders on devising and delivering projects
  • Devising, producing and managing pilot community engagement projects
  • Promoting the projects within the local area and internally
  • Evaluating project impact
  • Connecting and collaborating with other local engagement teams across the university

About you

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate  commitment to and direct experience of socially engaged practice, ideally within London or a major city. You’ll have experience of working within a team on projects with a range of different partners, preferably in a university or arts setting.

You’ll be well organised, self-motivated and able to work independently, but also enjoy collaboration and sharing ideas. Attention to detail and good communication skills both verbal and written are essential, as is experience of event management. You will be able to monitor day to day expenditure  and contribute support to funding applications.

If you have any general queries, you may contact Lesley Wilkins, Staffing Administrator, lcc.jobs@lcc.arts.ac.uk or telephone: 020 7514 7985
