The opportunity

Your primary responsibility will be to provide high level secretarial and administrative support to the Director of College Administration and Head of Technical Resource/Director of Marketing and Communications and Director of International Recruitment. In addition, you will also be expected provide administrative support to the wider Senior Management Team; as and when required.  It is an important role in the facilitation of effective communication links between the three Colleges and the wider University community. So it goes without saying that you will need excellent communication skills yourself.

Excellent prioritising skills are key to the role as well as the ability to work well under pressure. You will be a highly effective communicator, appropriately balancing tact and diplomacy with the need for quick turnarounds. You will be a problem solver with the confidence and perception of when to use your initiative. You will have excellent IT skills across MS Office, which you can use to produce correspondence and reports aimed at a senior level audience.

You will need to take the initiative and advise on priorities, identify levels of urgency, anticipate events and provide advanced warning of upcoming activities. From liaising with external agencies, dealing with enquiries and minuting senior management meetings, you will turn your hand to a wide range of duties; from setting up a Skype meeting to supporting college wide projects.  You will also be expected to contribute to the effectiveness of the Executive Support PA team.

About you

Educated to A level or equivalent, you are a confident and experienced PA who is able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, juggling a multitude of tasks. Proactive with excellent organisational skills, you will also bring strong problem-solving abilities.
