The opportunity

The Senior Lecturer in Co-Design and Knowledge Exchange for Service Design is responsible for teaching & learning, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on the MA Service Design and across the Design School. This course is part of the Interaction Design & Visual Communication programme in the Design School at LCC.  

About you

Requirement for the role:

  • You will have previous experience of teaching and assessment in Higher Education or comparable context, and in delivering a high-quality student experience that promotes diversity and inclusivity. 
  • You engage students through a combination of innovative pedagogy, knowledge exchange and/or research and effectively work with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects.
  • You will have or should be willing to attain, a relevant teaching qualification or recognition. 
  • You should be a specialist practitioner and/or researcher in service design or associated subjects with an MA or equivalent relevant industry experience in fields associated with service design or closely related disciplines is essential.  
  • Undergraduate degree in Service Design or associated subject.
  • Higher degree (e.g. MA) in Service Design or associated subject.
  • PhD or Higher level research degree (Desirable).
  • Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent) (Desirable).
  • Member of the Higher Education Academy (Desirable).
  • Experience of teaching & assessment in a higher education environment (permanent, fractional, or hourly paid contract).
  • Considers equality, diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching and assessment.
  • Evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of service design activity and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College and University.
  • Evidence of using contacts within subject peer group to develop partnerships or collaboration.
