The opportunity

This new role provides a wonderful opportunity to work in the education sector delivering industry-focused skills and knowledge. The role will provide specialist technical support and leadership for the Prototyping, Image and Code technical department; an area which includes Creative Coding, Physical Computing, Animation and Games Design and Maker spaces. Working within the college technical team and alongside academics, the role will be instrumental in developing and improving our student’s ability to successfully understand and challenge the world around us.

This is a unique role designed to lead technical resources across one of our newer technical teams at the College. Duties will include line managing a diverse and highly skilled team of technical staff, while ensuring safe and effective use of resources within the department. You will work with other technical managers to ensure a good service delivery level is maintained, and will lead student workshops and assist students in highly specialist technical processes.

About you

You will be highly technically skilled in at least one of the relevant areas: Animation (traditional and digital), Creative Coding, Physical Computing or Games Design. The successful applicant should ideally have some experience in managing a technical department, either in higher education or an industry field and should possess good industry knowledge across a broad range of technical areas.
