The opportunity
Junior Web Developers support the Development Team in building and enhancing the University's core digital channels. Working as part of the Digital Team, they will work alongside Content and UX teams on improving UAL’s digital platforms by building and maintaining templates and functionality through our content management systems. The roles will also be involved in delivering a number of projects.
We are recruiting for two roles, one permanent and one fixed term 12 months. Please indicate which of these you are interested in, or if you would like to be considered for both.
About you
The Junior Web Developers will support the Digital Development Manager in delivering the University's main digital channels. Working alongside a team of digital content managers and UX designers, the Web Developers will work with the University's CMS and other digital platforms, building and maintaining templates and functionality.
Essential Skills
- Understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript.
- Experience of managing bugs and issues through a help desk system
- Knowledge of content management systems, such as WordPress
- Knowledge of PHP7+ and MYSQL
- Understanding of front end frameworks and libraries such as Foundation and React
- Understanding of source control and workflow using Git, NPM, Gulp.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of web and accessibility standards
