The opportunity

Creative Shift, part of UAL’s Careers and Employability department, believe in shaping a diverse creative industry by supporting UAL students underrepresented in the sector to make a living doing what they love. The role will take responsibility to contribute to the University’s commitments within the APP (Access and Participation Plan) to eliminate gaps in progression data. The purpose of this role within the team. The post holder will take a strategic lead on the Creative Shift team and student facing projects. This includes: raising awareness of the team and their work, overseeing branding and messaging of Creative Shift, managing the budget, and reporting on the annual activity of the team (including feeding into UAL’s Access and Participation Plan). 

About you

Knowledge of effective approaches to widening participation and progression; preferably in an art and design higher education environment.

Knowledge of strategic approaches to delivering programmes, content and events.

Experience of leading or managing a team.

Significant experience of devising and delivering programmes related to employability, enterprise, and/or social enterprise; preferably in an art and design higher education environment.

Experience of leading and managing programmes effectively; including budget management and goal setting, evaluation, tracking and reporting.

Experience of identifying, establishing and managing key strategic working relationships. Including working in partnership with university staff, and/or professionals in the creative and cultural industries.

Experience of leading student / youth centered programmes or education.
