Pre-sessional Lecturer

The opportunity

This is an exciting role for an experienced and qualified EAP tutor who would like to join UAL's growing Pre-sessional Programme. The Pre-sessional Lecturer will be part of a small year-round team and will contribute to the academic quality of our accredited courses. You will teach up to 560 hours a year on either Pre-sessional or EPIC courses; provide both academic and pastoral support to students; will assist with student assessment; will review and develop new course materials and will help with curriculum development. This post is based at High Holborn between September and May and in Camberwell from June to the end of August. Please note that annual leave can not be taken between June and the end of August and that you will be asked to work either morning or afternoon/early evening shifts.             

About you

You will have a first degree, an MA in Linguistics and a DELTA or equivalent, and experience of teaching on a variety of EAP, ESP, HE or FE courses. You will have experience of assessing English language competency, strong communication and problem-solving skills and good planning and time management skills. With a commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for students, you will also invest in your own professional development. You will be a strong team player and have the ability to motivate students.
