The opportunity

Grade 5 Assistant Learning Resources Manager (1 FTE) at:

Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges (CCW)


The focus of this role is the operational day-to-day management of staff, space, and service across all three CCW sites.   

You will be responsible for overseeing staff development provision for CCW Library Services staff, and manage the staff development budget. You will work closely in collaboration with the Learning Resources Manager and the other Assistant Learning Resources Manager, and cover in their absence.

You will manage the weekend service across CCW, including staff management, training and development, meeting with weekend managers as required. 

Your remit includes membership of designated Library Services Groups; you will also be part of College life and represent Library Services at various College committees.

The role is full time and includes the requirement to occasionally work until 8pm during term time, as required, and until 6.15pm once a week in vacation periods.

You must have either: a degree in Library and Information Science (or equivalent); or a degree in any subject plus a postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Science, (or equivalent).

You will have demonstrable experience of working in an HE library, and of managing a team.

  • Specialist knowledge/qualifications: A degree in Library and Information Management or equivalent, as relevant to the post, at Graduate or Postgraduate level
  • Relevant experience: Experience in managing staff and services in a Library or equivalent environment, as relevant to the post
  • Communication skills: Communicates effectively orally and in writing adapting the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way
  • Leadership and management: Motivates and leads a team effectively, setting clear objectives to manage performance
  • Research, teaching and learning: Applies innovative approaches in teaching, learning or professional practice to support excellent teaching, pedagogy and inclusivity; applies own research to develop learning and assessment practice
  • Professional practice: Contributes to advancing professional practice/research or scholarly activity in own area of specialism
  • Planning and managing resources: Plans, prioritises and manages resources effectively to achieve long term objectives
  • Teamwork: Works collaboratively in a team and where appropriate across or with different professional groups
  • Student experience or customer service: Builds and maintains positive relationships with students or customers
  • Creativity, innovation and problem solving: Suggests practical solutions to new or unique problems
