The opportunity

UAL’s People Strategy is intrinsic to the success of the University’s wider 10-year strategy to bring high-quality creative education to more students, enabling them to flourish in a changing world, and change the world for good through creative endeavour. To achieve these aims, we are investing significantly in our people and setting ambitious goals. With this comes an exciting opportunity for a proven HR leader to play a pivotal role in delivering the People Strategy across UAL.

The core purpose of the role is to use business insights to drive change and sustained improvements in people management across UAL and effectively lead on the following strategic areas of the UAL People Strategy 2023-26:

•    Employee Engagement and Wellbeing
•    Organisational Development and Effectiveness
•    Staff Development
•    Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

About you

We value the diverse experiences candidates bring to UAL. Our people come from a variety of sectors and therefore applications are open to those both with and without previous experience of working in the higher education sector. Most important will be your substantial leadership and organisational development experience gained within a comparable sized organisation.

CIPD qualified, you will bring to the role a working knowledge of contemporary approaches to business planning, staff development, equality, diversity & inclusion and employee engagement. You will have an in-depth experience and understanding of organisational design as well as experience of leading change.
You will be a highly effective communicator with strong coaching skills who relishes the opportunity to be at the forefront of change and continuously adapt accordingly. If you meet these criteria, we would like to hear from you.

In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity.

Closing date: Monday, 3rd April 2023.
