The opportunity

Working closely with the Director of International Development to coordinate college Erasmus activity, the Student Placement and Exchange Administrator coordinates the day-to-day organisation and gives administrative support for students on placement, Erasmus and exchanges associated with all CSM courses.

The successful candidate will provide effective recording, escalation and co-ordination of a wide range of enquiries, including those within the University as well as from outside, in relation to students taking placements (who hold a Tier 4 visa), Erasmus Study Abroad Programmes and exchanges. They will also ensure the smooth running of students arriving and leaving the UK and that their results are provided by, and to, institutions as appropriate.

The role requires effective coordination and the setting up and renewal of CSM’s exchange network, along with the provision of update reports to university committees and departments on placement and exchange activities. Briefings will also need to be provided to staff and students regarding both placements and exchange opportunities and processes (via responding to general enquiries and presenting to the groups when required).

About you

We are looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual that wants to join us and have the opportunity to work, share and exchange knowledge within a dynamic and creative Art and Design practice environment. You will need to have confidence in communicating to a range of audiences such as; students, employers, other HEIs, Central teams within UAL and the college’s senior management team.

Previous experience of working in HE is essential, along with good working knowledge of policies and procedures relating to the student journey from enrolment through to graduation. In particular it is desirable for you to have had a focus on monitoring and supporting students who are on an exchange/ placement outside of their home institution.

Experience of data entry and manipulation is required along with the ability to question the validity of data and pay strong attention to detail. Extensive knowledge of Excel is essential.
