The opportunity

Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, Estates Strategy, Tax and Expenditure the Head of Income Services is responsible for providing strong leadership and management for the Income Services team, ensuring that UAL has robust systems in place for the identification, collection and management of income. The Head of Income Services will be delivering a customer focussed and professional service and will lead on the University’s payment acceptance and income collection strategies, championing developments that will underpin the University’s ambitions.

As an expert finance professional the Head of Income Services will work with a broad range of stakeholders, supporting them and ensuring the University is both transparent and accountable in the way it deals with its customers.

Communication is key as the post holder will be reporting to diverse audiences on income and will need to ensure business managers have reliable and accurate information for decision making purposes.

The post holder will be a positive driver of change and will develop a continuous culture of improvement within the Income Services team.

The post holder will develop suitable policies and procedures that support an effective and efficient income service, providing advice to internal and external stakeholders.

The post holder will also have strong communication skills and experience in building relationships with budget managers, internal stakeholders and suppliers, and be able to demonstrate a proactive approach.

About you

We are looking for the post holder to have experience of working in a fast moving financial environment, working to key milestones and delivering comprehensive results to tight deadlines. Proven experience in a customer facing role, with a thorough knowledge of income collection and management together with the ability to work across a large organisation and successfully influence and manage change in such an environment.
