The opportunity

This is the chance to make the most of your passion for making, design and teaching and working in our new and existing facilities with a variety of equipment. Joining us at Camberwell College of Arts in Peckham Road, you will work in our 3D workshops which include wood, metal and digital making.

Building upon existing work to create and develop a world-class learning experience for our students, the role is primarily to assist the Specialist Technicians in various workshops and working directly with students.

You’ll be engaged in the day to day running of the 3D workshops, maintaining equipment and ensuring safe operation of the working environment. In the workshop you’ll be providing technical assistance for students in relation to their projects and assignments.

About you

You’ll have proven and demonstrable experience of working with a variety of different materials and equipment. A broad understanding of analogue and digital making, the relevant processes and competencies are essential.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a self-disciplined manner, whilst adhering to an extremely high standard of safety, are essential characteristics for this role. You should be highly proactive, well organised, command excellent interpersonal skills, while operating with a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.

As well as your keen interest in making, fine art and design with strong organisational skills and an ability to keep calm under pressure. We are looking for an adaptable and curious maker who is agile in thinking and able to problem solve creatively.
