The degrees we offer across the Performance Programme at Central Saint Martins College encourage practitioners, activists and creative thinkers in expanding and diverging fields. The role of Course Leader, MA Dramatic Writing, offers opportunities for the appointed candidate to develop, redefine and grow the subject and to fully explore the potential of this relatively young course within the context of a specialist Art and Design institution and a diverse Performance and Drama programme. The post holder will take leadership responsibility for developing the profile and reputation of the course. They will teach across all units, manage the community of staff contributing to the delivery of the course, and fully participate in the creative, intellectual and organisation life of the Programme and College.
Central Saint Martins is seeking to appoint a new Course Leader for MA Dramatic Writing. CSM is a world-leading centre for arts and design education. Our subject range includes a diverse and vibrant programme of performance and drama courses and we are seeking to grow our strength and influence across this curriculum field. The reputation of the College stems from the creative energy of its staff and students and the stellar achievements of its graduates and alumni nationally and internationally. Our nine programme areas explore the boundaries of their disciplines and actively confront the challenges of a shifting political and cultural landscape with the determination to maintain priority focus on: creative freedom, social value and global community. Our collective responsibilities include: the promotion of curiosity, the disruption and testing of established norms, discovery through creative adventure, and the celebration of excellence at the forefront of our disciplines. CSM is at the heart of London’s creative scene, located at the centre one of Europe’s most dynamic culture and innovation quarters here at King’s Cross. We are a local partner of global significance. We have the ambition and determination to reach beyond even our own expectations, furthering the causes of Arts and Design education for the benefit of the many.

We seek applications from experienced professionals, research active academics and high calibre educationalists. This is a course management role and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong and well-tested organisational skills within the context of Higher Education or similar. They must be passionate about practices of writing for performance and drama, and the possibilities for creative collaboration that surround their discipline. You should be able to evidence leadership and engagement in team building and co-operative practices. We seek someone with experience in relationship building, outside of their institution, who can demonstrate success in the delivery of project partnerships. It is essential that candidates are able demonstrate their commitment to equal opportunities and inclusive pedagogic practices.

In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, an attractive pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity.
