The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join a great team and be part of the University's HR Department as the ASKHR Team Leader, working as part of our HR Services teams to deliver high quality, consistent and customer focussed HR services.

The University has a strong People Strategy and as part of enhancing HR, set up ASKHR. With a new HR structure still being embedded the ASKHR Team Leader is key to the success of enhancing the HR department. ASKHR way of working is pivotal in enabling HR to provide services to our diverse college and corporate staff and managers across a broad range of people matters including providing coaching support, advice on policies and supporting staff and managers through more formal HR processes. 

About you

This role will need to manage, support, influence and align ASKHR service team to ensure a first class HR service is delivered and that we retain our customer service excellence status and work across the whole of HR with HR Business Partners, HR Payroll, Pensions and Systems, OD&L and E&D teams to support delivery of university wide initiatives.  The ability to lead a team of HR Advisers and work as part of a team whilst maintaining presence and authority across HR is essential. You will be required to work collaboratively to ensure opportunity’s to drive consistency and work jointly on priorities are exploited.

You will have a broad range of generalist HR experience and demonstrable experience of proactively supporting HR and business planning cycles and good experience of managing people through change. As an individual you will bring strong coaching skills, a pragmatic approach, good analytical skills and negotiation and diplomacy skills to handle challenging HR issues effectively and sensitively.
