The opportunity

The Lecturer in Fine Art XD/Undergraduate Community Enhancement Support is responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on the Undergraduate Fine Art XD course at Central Saint Martins. The Undergraduate Community Enhancement Support aspect of the role involves working collaboratively across the Fine Art team and with the Programme External Liaison Co-ordinator in developing a co-ordinated approach towards academic and student community enhancement and development. The Fine Art Programme at CSM is delivered at our Granary Square, Kings Cross campus.

Requirements of the role:


  • Undergraduate degree in Fine Art or associated subject.
  • Experience of teaching & assessment in a higher education environment (permanent, fractional, or hourly paid contract).
  • Experience and fluency with online teaching platforms.
  • Applies an inquiring, innovative and reflexive approach to teaching.
  • Considers equality, diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching and assessment.
  • Shows commitment to understanding the range of students’ experiences within a course.
  • Collaborates and works effectively within team and across different professional groups.
  • Works effectively and respectfully with a wide range of people.
  • Fosters inclusive and constructive teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of Fine Art and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College and University.
  • Evidence of using contacts within subject peer group to develop partnerships or collaboration.
  • Higher degree (e.g. MA) in Fine Art or associated subject (Desirable). 
  • Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent) (Desirable).
  • Member of the Higher Education Academy (Desirable).
